Our network engineers recently noted that a large share of the emails sent to file.claim@fedex.com had NOT been delivered due to a ‘bad address’. FedEx apparently made changes on their end to no longer accept emails sent to this email address. This also indicated that many companies are currently not aware of FedEx’s claim filing requirement changes. It may be that FedEx is still accepting emailed claims from specific companies which may explain why your company has not experienced any issues filing claims against FedEx.
Last year, we were informed by a MyEZClaim subscriber of a notice that FedEx sent to their customers. Please see the attached document titled, FedEx Claim Filing Info (2021). Apparently, FedEx’s communication of this change in claim filing process did not reach all of their customers.
In an effort to address FedEx’s requirements, TranSolutions LLC developed a process within MyEZClaim that would allow for the claims to still be recorded, for searching and reporting purposes but, to also allow for the data to be extracted and applied to the FedEx -eClaims Batch template (attached) to address FedEx’s new claim filing requirements.
Since not all MyEZClaim subscribers file claims against FedEx, on a case-by-case basis, we are able to added custom fields and a custom report to MyEZClaim account that could be used in the FedEx eClaims filing process. These FedEx-related custom fields would be found in the additional claim information section within the claim data screen in the MercuryMyEZClaim application. There would be no charge for these custom fields or custom report.
Review the MercuryMyEZClaim Filing FedEx Claims with MyEZClaim document that will further explain this process.
Since ‘Read Receipts’ and ‘Undeliverable Mail’ notices are not possible due to email security protocols many companies have in place, we strongly suggest that if a filed claim has not been acknowledged by the carrier, that a company does due diligence by following up with the carrier, in a timely manner, for the acknowledgement of the receipt of the emailed claim.
